Levi Deming, wracked with guilt for his involvement in a disastrous home invasion at the age of 16, attempted to piece together a new life. He wished to do some good, despite the fact it wouldn’t make up for the lives he played a part in taking and would never return the future he stole from the young man who he tormented night after night. He felt he deserved to be locked up in a police station forever.

However, Levi’s situation wasn’t just about him anymore.

Initially expecting to encounter a hardened criminal, Phoenix found himself dealing with something entirely different when he came into contact with Levi. Instead of finding someone without a conscience, he discovered a young man struggling against impossible odds and overwhelming guilt. His initial disgust and anger gradually transformed into something else, forcing him to make a difficult decision.
